Jacob Paul Dyer, Age 81

Jacob Paul Dyer, age 81 of Gravel Switch died Saturday October 16, 2010 in Danville following a brief illness. 

He was the son of the late Harry Eden Masters Dyer and Florence Wayman.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Sallee Dyer, and his brother, Harry Lee Dyer.

He is survived by two sons and daughter in laws, Paul Henry (Edith) Dyer, and Robert Marion (Tracy Penn) Dyer of Lebanon, two daughters Ruth Dyer of Danville and Lucille Dyer of Gravel Switch, one brother, Willard Dyer of Indiana, and two sisters, Rose Perkins and Helen Wiser of Indiana, six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Jacob Paul Dyer will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday October 20, 2010 at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral home with burial to follow in Old Liberty Cemetery.  Brother Clellan Hays officiating.

The family requests visitation after 5:00 PM Tuesday October 19, 2010 at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home.

Frances Louise “Fay” Devers Hardin, Age 71

Frances Louise “Fay” Devers Hardin age 71, died Friday October 15, 2010 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel J and Mary Ruby Allen Devers.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hardin, and one brother, Jimmy Devers, and one grandson, Justin Nathaniel Hardin of Greensburg.

She is survived by two sons, Jody (Marcia) and Wesley Hardin of Lebanon, five daughters, Cheorkeenia (Rex) Lanham of Gravel Switch, Kathy Spalding, Cinda (Joe) Smothers, Krista (George) Kemp, all of Lebanon, and Cammy Howell of Indiana, thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Frances “Faye” Hardin will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in Ryder Cemetery.  Bro. Greg Haynes officiating.

Mary Idell Hewitt Vasquez, Age 72

Mary Idell Hewitt Vasquez, age 72, died Friday, October 1, 2010 in Louisville after an illness.
Mary was born in Illinois August 8, 1938, to the late Lyman and Lela Woolford Dragoo, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Emmitt Emery Hewitt Jr., one brother, Sam Dragoo, and sister Lora Ann Wagner.

Mary was a retired cook for Lebanon Middle School, she was of Catholic faith, and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. 

She is survived by one son and two daughters, David Allen Hewitt and Brenda Lou Rakes both of Bradfordsville, and Linda Ann Bruley of Illinois, one brother, William “Bill” Dragoo of Illinois also survives along with seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mary Idell Hewitt Vazquez were conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 5, 2010 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Benningfield Cemetery, Brother Bo Sherrill officiated.

Gladys Eveline Caulk May, Age 92

Gladys Eveline Caulk May, age 92, died Sunday October 10, 2010 in Lebanon after an illness.

She was the daughter of the late William and Nellie Caulk.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Ray May, one brother, William Caulk, and three sisters, Theresa Viola Caulk Shipp, Lillie Underwood, and Annie Grimes.

She is survived by one son David May of Florida, and one daughter and son-in-law Patsy and Mike Myers of Lebanon.

Funeral services for Gladys Caulk May will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, with burial in the Old Liberty Cemetery.  Brother Troy Shelton and Brother Jerry Albertson officiating.

The family requests visitation after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
