Lester Ray “Bobo” Smothers, age 68 of Gravel Switch died Tuesday February 8, 2011 at his sister’s residence following an illness. He was the son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth Thomas Smothers. David William “Bill” Chapman, age 84 of Lebanon died Monday January 31, 2011 after an illness. He was the son of the late Robert L. and Ora Stanton Chapman. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Juanita Chapman, one son; Bruce Aaron Chapman, and one sister; Mary Silvers. He is survived by one son; David, and his wife Betty Chapman of Lebanon, one sister; Roberta Chapman of Lebanon, three grandchildren; Suzanna, Amy and David M. Chapman all of Lexington, and four-step-great-grandchildren; Chris, Brian, Kevin, and Keith Bailey of Lexington. Funeral services for Bill Chapman will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday February 2, 2011 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ryder Cemetery. Bro.
