Lester Ray “Bobo” Smothers, age 68 of Gravel Switch died Tuesday February 8, 2011 at his sister’s residence following an illness.
He was the son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth Thomas Smothers. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters; Beulah Raque, Grace Wren, Bonnie Smothers, Edith Smothers, Ruby Smothers.
David William “Bill” Chapman, age 84 of Lebanon died Monday January 31, 2011 after an illness.
He was the son of the late Robert L. and Ora Stanton Chapman. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Juanita Chapman, one son; Bruce Aaron Chapman, and one sister; Mary Silvers.
He is survived by one son; David, and his wife Betty Chapman of Lebanon, one sister; Roberta Chapman of Lebanon, three grandchildren; Suzanna, Amy and David M. Chapman all of Lexington, and four-step-great-grandchildren; Chris, Brian, Kevin, and Keith Bailey of Lexington.
Funeral services for Bill Chapman will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday February 2, 2011 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ryder Cemetery. Bro. Robbie Harmon, officiating. Visitation is to begin after 6:00 PM Tuesday at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home. Lillian Thompson, Age 88 of Bradfordsville died Thursday January 27, 2011 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She was the daughter of the late William Jesse and Nellie Mae Wayman Abell.
William “Bill” Gruber, age 51, of Bradfordsville died Saturday in Casey County.
He was the son of Robert Levi Gruber of Missouri and the late Betty Imogene Forester.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Skaggs Gruber, two sons, Cody Gruber and Jason Skaggs of Bradfordsville, two daughters, Amanda Gruber and Shawna (Mike) Hahn of Missouri, five brothers, Amos Gruber of Bradfordsville, James Gruber of Paducah, and Ronnie, Robert, and Anthony Gruber of Missouri, and one sister, Rosemary Brown of Liberty.
Funeral Services for William “Bill” Gruber will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday December 15th at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Level Woods Cemetery. Brother Delane Pinkston officiating. Visitation is to begin after 4:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Linda Turner, age 61, of Lebanon died Monday December 6, 2010 in Lebanon at her residence following an illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Thomas Hayden, one son, Tony Hayden, one brother, George Hayden, and one sister, Debbie Downs of Lebanon.
Alvin Heistand Allen, age 84, died Sunday in Lebanon after an illness.
He was born November 18, 1925 to the late Charles W. and Martha Price Allen in Marion County. He is also preceded in death by his brother John “Cooch” Allen and sister Martha Allen Alford.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Nally of Lebanon, one grandson, Craig Bishop of Raywick and two granddaughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Andy Mattingly of Calvary, Gevette and Jodie Riggs of Lebanon, six great grandchildren also survive with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Alvin Heistand Allen were conducted at 11:00 AM , Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Mt. Washington Baptist Church Cemetery.

Donnie Ray Hart, age 64, of Gravel Switch, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at his residence after an illness.
He was the son of the late Bert and Effie Ann Lanham Hart. He was also preceded in death by one son Donnie Lee Hart. He was a member of the Beechfork Baptist Church and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Bohanon Hart, of Gravel Switch, one son & daughter-in-law, Stephen Carroll & Amanda Hart of Riley and one sister Betty Ann Smothers of Shepherdsville.
